UX issue - People always Save instead of Submit

Hi Replicon, We have a constant, recurring weekly issue that a significant number of users Save their timesheets, but forget to click Submit (or think it's done). This is a big cost to our business, and causes substantial delays to billing. The high rate this issue happens suggests the root cause is a genuine issue with the user interface experience/intuitiveness. For most online apps today, people are used to 'Drafts', auto-saves, etc. Clicking "Save" usually connotes the operation is complete. When people Save, something in the back of their head tells people they are done. There's a number of things that could immediately help address this. 1. Instead of "Save", the button could be called "Save Draft" (or better "Keep Draft"). 2. When clicking Save, pop-up "Submit Timesheet Now?" 3. Move the Save and Submit button absolutely side-by-side, so it just can't be missed. These might seem like really subtle changes, but I'm certain if you ran it through a UX usuability lab, you'd see an enormous difference in end user behaviour. Thoughts? Thanks, David.

Thanks for the reply. Apparently we are on Gen3. The issue isn't about saving (auto or otherwise). The problem is that users mistake Save for meaning Submit/Done. This isn't a user problem, it's a user interface design problem. (See the three points m

Hi David,

The best option here would be to enable the "Auto-submit timesheet on due date" option in the Timesheet template assigned to these users. By enabling this option these users timesheets can be automatically submitted based on the timesheet's due date (with or without hours). This submission will happen based on the user's time zone set.

Kindly contact our support team who can help you with this change and also raise suggestions for the above points you have highlighted, our product management team will look at the feasibility of making these changes.

Thanks,

Lingaraj

Hi Lingaraj, We don't want incomplete timesheets automatically submitted. We want complete timesheets submitted instead of saved. This isn't a product support issue. It's a product design issue. Could you please raise this to the attention of a pr
