Timesheet Comments

Currently in the Widget Timesheet settings under Timesheet Owner Permissions, there is an option to Allow Blank Timesheet Comments. The problem with this is that if you check that box, there is NO option to leave a comment when users submit their timesheet. If you uncheck this box, it then becomes mandatory, which is also not what we want.
We need an optional comment box to pop up every time a user submits a timesheet, the same way it does when a supervisor approves a timesheet.

Hi Cory,

Those options are for comments on the timesheet itself - ie comments for time entries. We currently don't have an option to prompt for a comment when submitting directly from the timesheet. However, if users select "See all timesheets" and check the timesheet they want to submit, they are prompted there. Users will also be prompted when resubmitting a timesheet, regardless of where they do that from.

Can you explain more about what comments you want to capture when submitting?

Thanks,
Charlene

Thank you for the response and suggestion, Charlene. However, I'm afraid that will not work for us. We are using the attestation on the timesheet, and so the only way to submit it without getting an error is to submit directly from the actual timesheet. Also, having to submit and resubmit just to be able to include a comment is and extra step we want to avoid.
As explained in my original post, we would just like to give our users the non-mandatory option of leaving a comment when submitting a timesheet in the same way that supervisors have when approving timesheets.

Sure, I understand that may not work for you. What types of comments would users enter? Is it info for approvers? I'm looking to better understand why it's important to your organization to be able to enter comments while submitting.

Thanks,
Charlene

One of our supervisors would like the option of including comments to indicate staff that are working in different sections within the same department.

Okay, thanks for all the info. We don't have a plan for this currently, but this helps us when reviewing feature requests during roadmap planning.

Thanks,
Charlene
