Standard TimeSheet to deduct Lunch break

We currently using Standard TimeSheet format.  Employees track their total hours for the day, but organization wants to track their lunch break (non paid time) and deduct them from Total Hours worked for the day.  Creating Activity doesn't help because the hours entered against an activity still counts up to the total Hours.  We do not want to use In/Out TimeSheet format

Implement a feature, which will help us track employees break time without having them enter against an activity.

Hi Rhonda,

In such a scenario we recommend using Timesheet Entry Level Custom Fields, which will allow users to track a break and enter hours against it. This will not add up to the total number of hours on their timesheets.

Step 1: - Create a new Timesheet Entry Level Custom Field (number type), you can set the custom field to show either on the left or on the right of each row.

Step 2: - Enable the newly created custom field in the Timesheet Template assigned to users. (Administration > Timesheet Templates)

Break time will show up on every row as per the screenshot below:-

Time entered under break time will be reportable but will not add to the total hours on the timesheet.

Note that I have only shown one example and you can setup the custom field as per your requirement.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks,
Lingaraj

Hi Matthew,

Apologies for a delayed response. Would you like a standard timesheet setup with break deduction?

Thanks,
Aashnee

We have users receiving notifications that they are over hours because the App is not deducting break/lunch times. Looking for a fix for that. This is only happening when using the App not on a desktop.
