Progress report at task level not available

I want to create a report that shows actual hours versus estimated hours for all of the tasks on a project. The actual hours I want to show as columns per user (so I can see who contributed what amount of the actual hours). Replicon customer support states there is no way to build this type of report given current templates. My options are: 1) build a report that shows all of the desired fields but only for active tasks (i.e., if no hours have been recorded against that task then it gets dropped from the report) or 2) build a report that shows all tasks but missing the user info for the actual hours. I would think this type of report would be highly useful for anyone tracking their project using task level information. It appears the report templates are more limiting than desired.

Hi Jim,

You can create a report to track the task estimated hours and the actual hours using the Task Time, Expense, Cost and Billing data Template. I however, confirmed from our support team that though you created the report, it wasn't providing you the data when you selected a date range (please correct me in case my understanding differs your concern)

This has already been escalated to our engineering team and we will have the thread updated when there is progress on the same

Thanks,
Aashnee

In using the Task Time, Expense, Cost and Billing data template for a report, it only reports on tasks where time has been recorded.  It skips tasks that are in the future and no time has been recorded at the moment.  This is true if you report on the entire project (no limitation based on dates) and you select the filter "Data to Display" = "Display all data".  So this template does not give you a complete picture of the project since all tasks are not present.

Hi JJ,

We are working towards having a report provide you the information stated here. To reiterate what we understand

- the report should show task estimated hours vs actual hours
- the task with no actuals but estimated hours should be visible inspite of a date range selected

Hi Aashnee, is this going to be a core modification to an existing report template or will it be handled via filters, custom fields, or something else? Also, is there an ETA? Thanks

Yes, we are looking to generate a report that lists all tasks on a project along with their estimated hours, and actual hours given the date range (and if no actual hours on that task, then zero).

Hi, I am trying to create the same report but realise it doesn't exist at the moment. I would like to see estimated hours vs actual hours and the time that has been input against the task. When will this report be available? Client managers should be able to view all the data on this report, even if they are not supervisors of or working in the same department as some of the users who have recorded time against the task. Thank you.

Hi All,

May we request you all to check the Project Task Hierarchy template? This should show you the task name with estimated and actual hours. Let us know if the template works for you all.

The Project Task Hierarchy template does not have the User Name field present.  So I can see the total Actual Hours but I cannot see the user that recorded the hours.  That was why I was using the Task Time, Expense, Cost and Billing template since it had all of the desired fields.  Is there any way to add the User Name field to the Project Task Hierarchy template?

Add me to the list of people who need this functionality as well. I want to be able to review time sheet data in a report format (view one report, rather than 25 time sheets) that includes the % of total task estimated hours consumed.
