Print Receipts Feature in Gen3

Most of our company travels and we use the expense module often. We need a functionality to print receipts with the image to the corresponding line item on an expense report. This gives the line item information from the Summary report only for those with “receipts” but adds the Receipt image to each page corresponding to the line item. This provides a quick way to view the receipt with the line item (where applicable that is) instead of the user having to manage it outside of the system. The idea here is to leverage the Expense tracking system to aggregate receipts in to a single report for backing up, submitting, record keeping, etc. Does this function exist? We are new to Replicon and didn't realize the lack of reporting when it comes to expenses. Thank you

Hi Nuno,

Thank you for using Replicon Community.

Currently, this requires few changes to implemented on the server side. Hence we request you to contact the support team who will provide more details and enable the same.

Unfortunately, this function does not work very well.  I would strongly suggest that Replicon provide the ability to print receipts that are entered with each line item.  See Expensify, Xpenditure, Fresh Books, Concur, etc. etc.

Hi Grey,

Right now you can view and print receipts already on each line item as shown below:

Please provide more information on your specific requirements.

Lingaraj

Thank you, Lingaraj.  I recognize the capability you point out, but it isn't particularly useful if one wants to produce a single report that associates each expense with a receipt or prints all the receipts from a report in a single document.  Replicon has provided me the Replicon Reporting tool as a workaround but it is fairly rudimentary.

I see your point, I have marked this as an idea and will have the concerned PM respond.

Hi Grey,

Thanks for the feedback. We don't have anything planned for this currently, but will review it during future planning sessions.

Thanks,
Charlene

Thank you.  Note that I researched a fair number of T&E sites before selecting Replicon and most offered this feature (Expensify, ClickTime, TriNet, etc.).  It's absence also renders Replicon's mobile app useless for us because, while one can capture receipts for each expense, there is no way to then produce an expense pdf that either associates receipts within individual expenses or produces a single pdf that includes copies of all receipts.

Hi Grey,

We understand your requirement, but unfortunately we do not have a solution to meet the same. As Charlene mentioned, the requirement has been shortlisted for future planning. However, to discuss this further I will have your Account Manager contact you ASAP.

Lingaraj

This is very unfortunate.  Our company uses G2 and we made the request over 3 years ago to get a report that would provide a summary of expenses and also product a scanned image of the receipt associated to each line item!  We spoke with our new Account Manager (we have had so many account managers in the 5 years we have been using Replicon, that we have trouble keeping track of them), and he told us that with G3 the reporting functionality of producing the kind of report that we requested long ago, was available in G3.  Obviously, there is a need for a report that produce a summary of expenses and also include the line item expense with the corresponding scanned receipt!  ALL of our clients require such a report, so we have to use another application to produce this report for our clients!
It is of absolutely no help to have an image stored in Replicon (viewable online, within the Replicon application) and not be able to produce a report that has a normal sized scanned image of the receipt associated with the line item expense. What is the point of having users scan images into Replicon if there is not the ability to produce a 'useful' report out of the system?
It is also VERY frustrating that we were told many months ago that G3 would have a report to meet this need, and clearly G3 does not have this capability.  If NEAT can provide this functionality, Replicon should be able to also provide it!

Yes, it's a bummer.  As I noted below, Replicon "built" us a dummed-down version of a receipt printer but it has proven pretty useless (we don't actually use it).  We have resorted to requiring that folks submit us their receipts separately (in addition to uploading in a single document to Replicon) so that we can use them for invoicing purposes.

Hi Leona,

I suspect the person who mentioned that Gen3 had a report may have been referring to the support one that Grey mentions. Would you like our team to contact you to give you a demo of that report to see if it will help?

Thanks,
Charlene

Grey, can you please provide more details on limitations that affect your usage of the standalone report? I know you mentioned the date range. Is there anything else?

Thanks,
Charlene

Has there been any update on this feature?  We have a similar request.

There has not as far as I know.  Replicon provides a separate web page to which we login to generate pdf's of receipts, but its functionality is very limited. can only select a date range of 7 days max and it's just very clunky.

I would even be excited about the clunky functionality, (it would be more than what I currently have now).  Is that something special I need to ask for? or how did you get that?

We need the same/similar capability. We need to be able to output a expense sheet details report that includes all of the attached receipt images. And/or a report that has the expense sheet description, tracking number, date, client, and project along will all receipt images.

It seem that this is very clearly needed and exists in competing products. I'm so glad very dismayed to see this is planned NOT PLANNED for release soon.

Hi Tony,

We can for now provide you a tool that can help you download the receipts without any issues. We will also have our product management team re review this.

Thanks,
Aashnee

Note the cautionary tale described above.  Such a tool exists, however, it's not great.
