Hi Ruben,

Thank you for using the Replicon Community!

Tentative projects in Replicon ideally signify the projects that are either upcoming or have a final say pending on whether they would be taken up for work or not. I would like to understand how you classify your projects. If the status falls separate from what has been configured with Replicon, we can have the project set to In progress and find a work around to input your organisation's requirement of the project status.

Thanks,
Aashnee

One workaround we did was to create a custom project field and labeled it as "Company Status" which provided additional flexibilty in naming the status.

We have found Tentative status helpful as a holding place when waiting for a PO or SOW and don't want to take on any risk.  We can thus generate a report that shows projects still waiting for a pending item.

Additionally, we also have created templates in Tentative status that we copy for ease of project set up.

Hope that helps.

Hi Jeanne,

Thank you for the clarification. That explains the issue. Unfortunately, currently you will have to go forward with the Project Status as a Custom Field as tentative projects cannot be made available in the timesheet as yet!

I will however, talk to my team internally and see is is something that we can consider and update the post status accordingly.

Thanks,
Aashnee

Please note I'm all for keeping Tentative status so that that projects won't show on time sheets.  Gives us a place for a templates and projects we don't want visible to users yet but would like to pre-enter the projects in advance.  I was suggesting the Custom project field as a workaround for Ruben.

Thank you for putting forward a solution Jeanne,

Ruben, currently creating a custom field is the best possible way out through this.

Thanks,
Aashnee

We are planning on changing our system to allow customers to define their own project workflow and statuses.  As part of this we will need to handle what each status means, and how people can use it.

It would be great if you could share more details of your project workflow with us.  Understanding what steps you have, and what restrictions/actions happen at each step would be quite helpful.
