How do I reset Time Off in Lieu at the end of the year

We have the system set up that allows staff to bank time off in lieu. I would like to create a policy that resets the balance to 0 at the start of the year. If I try to create a policy the 3 drop downs that I have are "Effective Date", "Balance" and "Advanced". The Holidays policy editor has choices like "Accrue" and "Reset".

Hi!

We've done that for the 2nd semester. Take a look at the following screenshot.

Okay, but that has the year 2015 in it, does that mean I have to re-create the same rule for every year going forwards?

Hi,

You want to automatically and periodically reset the time off in lieu balance.
Don't know how to do that without using services.

Have you checked this one?

Under Admin>Time Off Types you will have your holiday type under default Policies for New Users, under reset you can set it to reset on the 1st of January and you wont have to reset it every year it will do it automatically.

The other option is under Admin>User>Time Off>Holidays you can set it so it resets on the 1st of Jan (it will not roll over any holidays that user hasn't taken).  This will be ongoing.

Hi Zoe!

I can't find the option to reset the time off in lieu (TOIL). I can find it for holidays but not for TOIL.

Cheers,
Nuno

Hi Paul,

Thank you for using Replicon community.

Currently, TOIL does not allow a reset to be setup. You will need to setup a new policy for each year.

Lingaraj

Hi Paul,

As Lingaraj mentioned, the time off in lieu time off type is a special time off type that doesn't include all the options that the standard time off types do. However, we have been working on a new time off system that eliminates this issue - time off in lieu is accrued in any time off type. This new version isn't available quite yet, but we'll be letting customers know when it is.

Thanks,
Charlene

Okay thanks. So on the current system that would mean a policy that runs 1st Jan to 31st Dec and "Carry up to 0 days", and one of those for each year?

Yes, that should do it. And you could either use "Carry up to 0 days" or "Set to 0 days". "Carry up to" will carry over a negative balance. So if the user has overdrawn and has a balance of -2, their balance on Jan 1 would be -2. "Set to" would always set it to 0 days. Just depends on which behaviour you want. This post shows the "Carry up to" behaviour.

You should be able to use our user mass edit to make this change to several users at once.

Hope that helps!
