GANTT in the dashboard

We'd love the ability to create a GANTT view of our projects in the dashboard.

We'd also like to display a table and gantt in the one view, the table including fields we like to view with our projects (hours per project, pm, exec sponsor etc)

Hi Paul,

Thank-you very much for the feedback.

I really like the idea of including a Gantt chart in the dashboard.  Can you please elaborate a bit on what you'd want to see in a Gantt chart; what would you expect to see on each row, and what dates would you expect to see bars represent?  I'm imagining that you'd be looking for projects to on each row, the project's start & end date to be reflected in the bars, the project's current completion percentage to be marked, and the current date to be a vertical line through through the chart.  Does that pretty much match what you were thinking?

I'll include this idea, and the idea of including a table as well, into our future roadmap for the dashboard product.

In the meantime, you might consider using a tool like Microsoft Project.  I believe that a Replicon MS Project integration tool is available to synchronize data between the two systems.  This would allow you to get a Gantt chart and use a more sophisticated and mature tool than would ever be included in our dashboards.

Thanks again,

Mathieu

Thanks Matthieu.

Well aware of the features in other project management solutions to display gantts, but thanks for your suggestion. It is more beneficial for us to have all the data in the one spot and live, so that's why we'd like to see the GANTT in Replicon.

Your idea on the display of the GANTT is how I envisage, a high level view of the row per project (not needing to display to a task level as this then isn't suited for dashboard UI with overload of data), the length of the gantt is obviously the start and end date. We'd also love, as with the current dashboard funcitonality, the ability to filter on gantts.

The GANTT label would be best for us, and many others i'd feel, to be the label of the project, but being able to set this to what data suits (project manager, program, project name etc) would allow for more flexibility.
