Create a Time Off Rule that will zero out positive PTO balances, but will also carry over negative PTO balances.

Employers often allow employees to overdraw PTO.  This feature is already in Replicon.  But the negative balance needs to be repaid by the employee.  It should carry over until the negative balance has been repaid.  Employers often zero out employee PTO on an annual basis.  Right now, Replicon treats positive and negative balances the same when it comes to resetting it on an annual basis.  Please consider allowing negative balances to be carried over while resetting positive balances.

Hi Michael,

Would it work if you set up the starting balance to carry over the previous balance up to 0 hours?

Thanks,
Charlene

I don't know if that would work.  Does the system function that way?  Seems like it would need to be tested.

I did confirm that you can set it to 0 for a carry over. I will ask Lingaraj to test this out to see if it works as I expect. It may take a couple of days for the test scenario to run.

Hi Michael,

I have tested the same and can confirm that if you setup a yearly reset policy with Carry upto as 0 on Jan 1, this will only carry forward negative balances while resetting all positive balances. I have demonstrated this in the screenshots below:

Scenario 1: User Robert California has negative balances

Policy setup

Result

Scenario 2: User Richard Anderson has positive balances

Policy setup

Result

We suggest that you setup the policy as shown in the screenshot above and this should meet your requirements.

Thanks,
Lingaraj

That is perfect and exactly what we need!  Thank you very much for testing this out; it is a great feature and we will definitely use it.
