Custom column showing percentage of "Total Work Hours" spent on "Activity"

 Hi, On the user side, I would like to see if it's possible to add a custom column next under the "Time Distribution" section next to the "Total" column on the far right that would show the percentage of time spent on an activity. I would like it to show the "Activity"/"Total Work Hours." I know on the admin side we can generate reports showing this information, but it would be useful for us to have employees see the percentage of time spent on activity. For our purposes this would exclude PTO/Holiday hours- so perhaps in the settings you could have a check box that would indicate whether to 'exclude PTO/Holiday hours.'   Thanks,  Julia

Hi Julia,

Can you confirm if you want the employees to see hours of all the users or only theirs.

Hi Aashnee, only their hours- so as they tracking their time they can see what percentage of time is spent towards any given activity.

Hi Julia,

In that case they can create the following report:

- Go to Reports
- Create a report with Category as Timesheet and Report Type as Timesheet Day Template
- Add User Name, Entry Date, Activity Name, Time off Hours, Time Off Type, Total hours (Period)
- Then they can create a custom column as follows:
          - Click on the Custom Section
          - Add Total hours (Period)
          - Change format to percentage
- Run the report

They will see their data

Hi Aashnee,

Thanks for sending those instructions,  I will have them do that in the meantime. It it would be nice (and a possible 'idea' for the future) if they didn't have to take that extra step and if there was a column I could add so that they could just see it as they put in their time- like they are able to see the total hours spent on each activity as they input them- but in addition to seeing the number of hours spent per activity they could see the percentage of time spent on each activity. There might be other interest from other customers to add this feature in the future!

Hi Charlene,

At our organization, time sheets are submitted monthly, and we provide a time allocation guide to our salaried employees each month that shows the percentage of working hours billed towards each grant- for example, Employee 1 might have 20% of his/her salary billed towards Activity 1
 /Admin,  20% towards Activity 2/Grant A, and 60% Activity 3/Grant B. Employee 2 might have 40 % of his/her salary billed toward Activity 2/Grant A, and 60 % towards Activity 3/ Grant B, etc. etc. It would be easier for employees to be able to better manage their time spent on any given "Activity" they are able to see it as a percentage of total hours worked as they are inputting it into the Replicon system.
