Best pratice for completing an employee timesheet while employee is on a short-term leave

I am looking for how best to achieve the completion of several weeks of timesheets that would not be completed by an employee while they are temporarily out of the office due to maternity leave or short-term disability leave. We have one employee who came back from 8+ weeks of leave and now is getting emails with past due timesheets to be completed during the time she was out.

Hi Samantha,

We recommend you to create a time off (may be maternity leave in this case). Assign the time off to the user and book that time off for the entire period that the user was not available. Another way out is to delete the timesheets as a Payroll manager for that period. 

If you want to put in time on those timesheets then you can choose to use our RIA tool. This is an import tool and allows you to add time hours in bulk for a user. I do have a call scheduled with you today Samantha, in case you have any concerns regarding these options I can help you accomplish the same on the call.

Another option - we don't have the TimeOff function:  Should you know you will have anyone out for a period of time and are using Gen3 version you can deactivate the timesheets from generating by changing the user's profile for Timesheet Templates to be the blank selection.  Then go to the notifications menu and de-select all those.  You will need to be diligent re-setting these when the employee returns.    And lastly, if you have appropriate Admin rights to the Billing section and choose all the timesheets you can submit on behalf of the employee(as empty). But that might not be acceptable practice for some companies.

In situations like these, we recommend that you use our replicon import addin tool. This helps you import large amount of data using excel.
