Wrong calculation of time off balance due to office schedule

We have users with specific office schedules (working students with different hours per day).

For instance one user has the following office schedule:

Monday: 8 hours
Wednesday: 4 hours
Thursday: 8 hours

This was set-up to define the working days, i.e. Wednesday with four hours should be calculated as a full work day. If the user books one day off on Wednesday, it is displayed correctly in the timesheet with 4 hours time off. However, in the time off balance it shows as if it was booked as a half day, which is wrong.

This is very confusing for our employees. Is there a way to book it correctly?

I just tested the same and found that in the Balances section it is showing up as 1 days as shown in the screenshot below:



Let me know if you are referring to a different screen?

Hello Lingaraj,

the day is correctly booked as one day. However, the balance calculated is wrong:


Also the beginning balance was not 7.72 days but 9.5 days:

This seems like a one off issue which needs to be troubleshot. I will have one of the support team members reach out to you today and take this to closure.

Hi Katrin,

We recommend using "Hours" as the units if users work a variable number of hours. This help topic may explain why you are seeing the behaviour you are seeing.
