Widget Timesheet - Adding Multiple Activities to Same Client

  • Under Consideration
When we have entered in a client and want to put in the same client with a different activity, all we had to do was hit the + sign and it would copy down the existing client.  We could change if needed or just enter a different activity.  This no longer is the case.

Hi Helaine,

This is something we have on the backlog but no ETA at the moment. If we hear from more customers on it, that would help move it up the priority list.

Thanks,
Charlene

Charlene - I'd like it added.  If it's numbers you need, I think I've got 20 on my team that would also like to have that functionality.  I can ask them to come in here and comment on this thread if that would help get it prioritized.  Do I need all 20 to come in here and comment or can you take our word for it that it was a key feature we used?  I'm not sure why that functionality would have been removed.

Charlene, I would like this functionality as well. It is much easier for me to organize and manage the accounts I work on with the plus addition on the left bar.

Hi Kelly, No need to have each of them comment - I believe you!

I agree with Kelly.  Since we have lost this functionality, I have lost a lot of efficiency in filling out my time sheet.  Not only do I have to manually add new activities (even if it's a client that I already have logged) instead of "adding", I find that I lose the activities I have added from the previous week resulting in additional work.

When the update to Replicon happened, I talked with my team.  We all have the same frustrations.  It feels like the update was actually a retrograde in capabilities.

100 % agree that this is needed again.  When you have 30+ lines every single week, it becomes cumbersome to locate multiple lines for the same client.  At the very least, it would be nice to filter alphabetically.

I'd really like to see this functionality added back in. The "improved" version actually takes more effort to enter/track time. Please consider fixing soon! Thanks!

Please restore this functionality. Also, it would be nice if activities from the prior carried over to the next week. We have a lot of work that carries over week to week and I find myself spending a lot of time re-entering client's and activities from the prior week.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all your feedback. It's very helpful to know that this is an issue for many users. I will work to put this on the short list to see if we can get it scheduled for Q1. I'm not sure why it was not added on the latest timesheet platform, but it's clear from your comments that it's an important feature.

Regarding some of the related issues that were mentioned:

- There is an option to sort the rows, so you can group everything from one client, project, or activity together. If you click on the column header, the sort options will be shown.

- Regarding carrying over activities or project from week to week, you can ask your administrator to set this up. They just need to go into your timesheet template and set the "Auto Fill Timesheet With" option. There are a few options to choose from. If you just want to copy the selections, but not the time entries, choose "Previous Timesheet Excluding Time Data".

Thanks,
Charlene

Charlene,

As I was talking with users yesterday about this one issue, we ended up with a laundry list of missing functionality that was extremely helpful in the prior version.  As you ask the team to do the fix originally noted on this thread, can you also ask them to do the following list?  These came from our full team of 20 if the numbers help prioritize.
  • Shading Saturday/Sunday a different color so people don’t accidentally put time in the wrong columns.  Scrolling the days makes it a little more difficult to stay in the proper column
  • Making the task/Project/Activity columns thinner so we don’t have to scroll on the days of the week and can see the full week at once
  • Auto save comments.  We used to be able to type stuff into a comment and it saved whereas now we have to hit save or it disappears
  • There used to be a total hours for the week up at the upper right that disappeared.  It had a breakdown of billable and non billable.  Since I have targets of billable hours per week, that was really helpful to have.
  • The stop watch is gone.  People found that helpful.
  • an issue we've always had is the list restriction when searching.  We may have a project that is literally one word so there's no way to refine the search further by adding things.  The lists are restricted to so few results return it can be hard to find some of these groups.  If we could have longer lists returned or organized such that it prioritizes the results where the search term is at the beginning instead of somewhere in the middle, that would be helpful.
The team would really appreciate these adjustments.  Thank you!!!
Kelly
