View Permissions - View Only option for Team Leads

I think I already know the answer to this question but asking it anyway. We have some team leads that we would like to give view only access to certain resources. These team leads are not admins or project managers or supervisors. The way I see it from my understanding of Replicon, we have two options to do this:

  1. We can assign these team leads to the “Payroll Manager – View Only” permission that I created. This would allow them to see all resource timesheets, time off requests and expense reports. They would have to specifically look up the individuals they oversee, or they could search by department. They would have no ability to make changes or approve anything. This would be the easiest option but would give them full view access over all resources.
  2. We can assign them as the supervisor for the resources they oversee. This will require a lot more work as only one supervisor can be assigned to each resource. Currently I am the supervisor for the majority of our employees and I am responsible for approving all timesheets, expense reports and time off requests. In order to make the team leads supervisors instead of myself, I would have to 1) create a new permission set for a supervisor with view only access, 2) assign that set to each team lead, 3) update each of the resource profiles for those they need to oversee, 4) create a number of new approval paths (as all of our current approval paths are set up using the "Supervisor" role, and 5) make sure that each resource’s approval paths are accurate and include all necessary approvers.
Is there any other way this can be done that will not give full view access and also not require a ton of work on my end? It would be great if in the future Replicon would consider allowing for more than one supervisor or some other team lead type permission set designation.

Hello Kelly,

Thank you for posting your query in Replicon Community.

First Option:

You may set up scheduled reports and while setting it up use the filters to check the selected users and our system will automatically send an email with this data to the concerned user.

By scheduling reports, you do not have to make any changes to permissions any user can be added to this schedule.

To know more about scheduled reports:

Second option:

You can set up Groups and then move users to the particular groups and the user with the payroll manager/Project manager/Supervisor/ can be restricted only to that group.
