Unable to Save Hourly Cost section under User Profile with more than 2 digit decimal Precision

Replicon doesn't provide an option to have daily costs, we need to have hourly costs with higher precision which - when multiplied by 8 - will give us a full daily rate.

Please consider implementing this feature at the earliest.

Hi Rafal,

Thank you for posting on the community,

Could you provide us a business case scenario as to why you are looking for more than 2 decimal precision?

Thanks,
Lingaraj

Hi Lingaraj,

We are currently using third party software for our accounting needs, where rates and costs are given in daily figures.

Using Replicon's hourly 'Billing rates' is fine because these support up to 4 decimal places for each figure. However, the 'Hourly Cost' is only up to 2 decimal places which leads to inconsistent figures when data from Replicon is transferred to our accounting tool.

For example, we have users where converting hourly billing rates (up to 4 decimal places) to daily rates is OK:

99.375 * 8 = 795.00

Now, if we had similar hourly cost for the user, then it would lead to issues as:

99.38 * 8 = 795.04

This is basically the problem we are facing - it would help a lot to have the same level of precision for both billing rates and costs of the users.

Please let me know if this is sufficient.

Thanks,

R.

Hi Rafal,

Can you let me know what is the current integration process you have in place for Replicon and your accounting software?

Are you running a report in Replicon first, then exporting data to excel to integrate?

Lingaraj

Hi Lingaraj,

No, we actually have a script which connects to Replicon via an API call (from TimesheetService1 functions 'GetTimesheetForDate' and 'GetTimesheetDetails'), parsed data is then pushed into our accounting software.

Now when you mention the Excel, I was also wondering if there's an option in reports to get around the rounding to two decimal places enforced in the XML itself:

    <Style ss:ID="Number" ss:Name="Number">
      <NumberFormat ss:Format="#,##0.00;\-#,##0.00" />

The problem is similar to my initial question - when we have more than two digits in the rates / costs it gets automatically rounded to two digits.

Thanks,
R.
