Unable to determine to which project the task belongs to

Hi All,

We have projects that share the same structure, ie, they have a set of common tasks, like "Management", "Meetings", or "Service Desk".
It is also common that our users have to work on a given week in many of those projects.

Now, image the following scenario:
Monday: user tracks time in 6 of those projects.
Tuesday: One of those projects project manager unassignes the user from the task Management.
Wednesday: The user gets a message saying "You are no longer allowed to enter time against "Management". Please choose another task."

What is the project that the user does not have permissions?

As a workaround, is there a report that shows, for a given timesheet, if the user is assigned to the tasks?

Thanks,
Nuno

Hi Nuno,

Improving the error description is in our roadmap. I have forwarded this to our internal team and will update the thread as and when we have an update.

Thanks,
Aashnee

Is this a validation script for project and task estimates? This appears to be a Gen3 timesheet.

Generally speaking, new validation rules address some of the shortcomings associated with legacy timesheets. Depicted below is the messaging associated with our project/task validation rule on our customizable timesheet.

Is it the particular timesheet type used? Note within our live environment we use the following :-

Hi Dan,

Based on the screenshot you shared, it appears that you are currently using one of our Gen3 timesheets.

Our new customizable timesheets provide a number of new enhancements. We have a whole library of validation rules that work in conjunction with these new customizable timesheets. In addition, we have designed these validation rules for the new customizable timesheets to provide a higher level of specificity in the messaging (i.e. stating the project name for a given task).

Unfortunately, our validation rules for our new customizable timesheets is not compatible with our Gen3 Timesheets. If you would like, I can have someone from Replicon reach out to you and discuss your options for moving you to the new customizable timesheets. Please let me know if you’d like me to have someone from our team connect with you on this.
