Tracking time sheet hours against a project

I don't understand why you can't track time sheet hours (that are calculated with pay rules) against projects. We need to be able to track regular, over and double time hours against a project, not just total non-pay rule calculated hours.

This is very important to us. We cannot accurately track progress against a goal without this information. We also cannot gauge how well a project is going. We need to be able to see if we are incurring a lot of overtime and be able to act on it.

There is a big cost difference between 100 hours (as the system tracks now) and 100 hours made up of 75 regular, 10 over time, and 15 double time hours, for example.

Thank you

Hi Mark,

Thank you for using Replicon Community!

I would like to confirm if you have tried the Timesheet Day Pay Code Template? You can click on new report choose category as Timesheet and report type as Timesheet Day Pay Code Template.

Please let me know if that resolves your question. If not may I request you to please provide more details.

Thanks,
Aashnee

Thank you for the assist. That template does not have any options to choose project related information for the output, so no, it won't work.

Hi Mark,

Our newer timesheet has the option to enter time for payroll and then allocate it to projects. I think that might help you specify overtime against projects, but I'd have to take a look in more detail.

I'm out of office next week visiting clients so I'll take a look at this when I get back the following week.

Thanks,
Charlene

Hi Charlene, I think we're using that timesheet in Gen 3 with the time distribution widget. There's just no way to report on it.

Thank you for looking at this.

Yes, that sounds like what I was referring to. Have you tried the Project Time Allocation report? I don't think it exists as a default report, but if you add a new report it should be available as a template. I'm not sure if it would do everything you need, but you're welcome to take a look at it and then we can talk again when I'm back!

Thanks,
Charlene

Hi Mark,

I took a look at the Project Time Allocation report and found that it will give you the project and pay code info for the time. The pay code would be shown under the column "Allocation Category". Please take a look at this report and let me know if it does what you need.

Thanks,
Charlene
