Time off requests for events in the past now must have a booking request

Prior to the last update, time off that had occurred in the past could be entered directly into the time sheet. This makes sense for sick time as an example. There are instances when it can't be scheduled. Once it has occurred, there is no need for the time to be approved. If the supervisor or manager does not agree with the time off type requested, they can reject the entire time sheet. Now, they have to deal with time off booking requests that can't be denied. It is additional work for the managers and confusing for the employees. The only reason I've been given for the change is so that the user will have a consistent experience. Our supervisors and managers are busy people. Having superfluous requests is not helpful or necessary.

Hi,

Thank you for using Replicon Community.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. You can setup an approval path at the Time Off type level, so that anyone raising Time Off's via the book time off page get system approved & will not require anyone's approval.

- Steps are as follows:-

  • Log in as Administrator.
  • Click on Administration.
  • Under Time Off go to Time Off Approval Paths
  • Click on the approval path which is in effect for all the users.
  • Click on +Add Time Off Type Specific Path & select the Time off types which need to be system approved.

  • ??Do not add any approvers and leave it blank. Eg., Sick as shown below:-

  • Click on Save.
All the Time off bookings going forward for Sick will get system approved for users who have been assigned this approval path. If you have multiple approval path's then repeat the same steps as required. Should you need assistance with the above process feel free to contact our support team who will be glad to set this up for you.

Thanks,

Lingaraj
