Time off defaults to a day in the past

It is Friday and I took two hours off. I added time off but it defaulted to Tuesday (3 days ago) and I didn't notice before clicking OK. Since it is in the past, I can't edit it. Shouldn't the default be today. I tried adding more time off and it is currently consistently tuesday so it does not seem to be random. Sunday or Monday I could understand but Tuesday?

Not the first time I have been caught by this.
