We need ability at the project team level to close the task by team member them selves. Is there a way to achieve this requirement?

Hi Jayshree,

Not for now. But I have forwarded this to our product management team to check if this can be put through the roadmap

Thanks,
Aashnee

In the meanwhile, a good workaround would be to create a Custom Field at the Timesheet Level with a flag called 'Close Task?' Then people can select a Y value and you can determine what needs to be closed by running a Timesheet report looking for these Ys.

Thanks Tom,

I definitely would like to try this option but I am not sure how to flag the task? And not able to streamline everything what you have mentioned. If you get opportunity can you please provide me more insight?

Appreciate your response.

Regards,
Jayshree

Not a problem. You will first need to go to Administration > Timesheet Settings and create a new Custom Field at the day/cell level. Choose the dropdown style and create only one option of Yes (Y). You can refer to this: http://www.replicon.com/help/creating-custom-fields?destination=help/1000244/1000250/1000251&rol...

Now ALL users will potentially see this value so you will have to instruct them when to use this. It can not be made available to specific projects only, so make sure you have this documented for them.

When a task is ready to be closed, they can flag the request on their own Timesheet. Presumably flagged once by one user is enough, but even if multiple users flagged it multiple times it wouldn't make any difference.

Create a new report using the Timesheet Day template and make sure you have the new Custom Field that you added as one of the columns. Run the report for a week or two every time and look for these Y values. When you see one, go close the corresponding Task. You can even sort on the column so that the Y values appear at the top and you don't have to scroll through the whole report. Hope this helps.
