Selecting projects and tasks in your timesheet

If you’re like me, when it comes to repetitive tasks like recording your time, you quickly find a method that works, and stick with it without exploring other options.

But, that sometimes means we overlook quicker, easier, and better ways of doing things.

So, below I’ve outlined two options for selecting projects and tasks in your timesheet that you may not be aware of, that could save you some time.

Searching instead of navigating

If you’re currently clicking a client, then clicking a project, then clicking a task to select a task, there may be a better way.

All timesheets allow you to search for projects and tasks, rather than navigating my clicking. This can be much faster, especially if you have a lot of projects and tasks to choose from.

You can search for projects or tasks, and clients or programs too, if they’re available. Plus, the configurable timesheet also lets you search within those categories.

Copying from past timesheets

If you want to skip searching for tasks and projects entirely, you can do that by copying the ones you entered on your last timesheet.

You can even copy all of the hours you entered against those projects and tasks, if you want to base your new timesheet on that.
