resource selection for project planning

I'm a project manager in an environment with scarce resources.  I need to plan onsite visits well in advance to assure availability of resources.  It would really help me if I could select resources by name (multiple selection) so I could compare them to look for scheduling gaps.  I'm thinking a drop down/check list on this screen would help:

HI Andrew,

We understand the concern here. We can also confirm that choosing a department as selection criteria is not of much help to you. We have updated the concerned team regarding the same and will keep you informed regarding any progress on the same

Hi Andrew,

Makes sense. We don't have plans to work on this right now. Thank you for the suggestion.

Hi Andrew,

Just to clarify how you are using the system, are you aware of our placeholder feature in the resourcing section?

Hi Karen,

I looked at that but it doesn't seem to address my need.  From actual or placeholder, I would need to have defined a project first and have resources assigned.  My challenge is to identify resources with scheduling gaps and then create the project and assign them to it.

I can filter by department, which reduces the number of resources I am looking at.  That's a pretty good option.
