Product Area: Reports, My Replicon, Project Management

Scenario

When the project is created with "Fixed Bid" billing type, by default, all project hours are considered as "Billable" when users are not selecting a billing option in their TimeSheets. When users select the billing option as Billable or Non-Billable hours in their TimeSheets then project hours will be calculated based on user's selection and show billable or non-billable hours in reports.

Work Around

When Project is created as "Fixed Bid" billing type, by default Time entry, billing status is "Billable and Non-Billable" and there is no option to change it.

If "Show Billing Options" is selected in the TimeSheet template assigned to users, users will have an option to select Billable or Non-Billable Hours when project billing type is "Fixed Bid".

Project Managers can decide if project hours for Fixed Bid, Billing type projects should go for Billable hours or Non-Billable Hours. If Projects hours should go to Billable Hours then it is not essential to grant access to Billing option for users in their TimeSheets. All hours entered against Fixed Bid projects will automatically go to Billable Hours.

If I am understanding correctly, if within the time sheet template we deselect the show billing options checkbox, would that not affect the user's ability to to select billable or non billable on other projects such as time and materials projects?

Hi Lyndrey,

It will certainly limit the users from selecting Billable/Non-Billable for time and material projects

Thanks,

I thought as much. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be a useful workaround for those of us that use more than one project type.
