This week we released customizable billing calculation rules and fixed a couple of issues.

Customizable billing calculation rules

We’ve converted our default billing calculation rules into scripts. So, if your company uses Replicon Professional Services Automation, we can now set up these rules to match your custom requirements.

Billing calculation rules determine how hours and expenses entered into Replicon are translated into the billing line item amounts that you can add to client invoices.

For example, our default rules specify that the billing amount for daily-rate projects is always prorated based on the proportion of a day the user worked. So if a user works a quarter of the day, the amount of the billing line item for that day would equal a quarter of the daily amount.

But maybe your company bills these sorts of projects at the full daily rate even if only two hours was worked. Now you can have your rules customized to reflect this requirement, and you won’t have to edit each invoice to show the correct value.

If you’d like your billing calculation rules to be modified, contact your Customer Success Manager or Replicon Support. Refer to Understanding how billing line item amounts are calculated for more information on this feature, including more examples of how rules can be customized.

Fixed issues

  • If you search for a term that includes a space when adding a line item to an invoice, the search may not return all expected items
  • Administrators with edit permission for Custom Fields but only view permission for Users can’t edit custom fields. Similarly, if they have edit permission for Login Settings, but only view permissions for Users, they can’t edit passwords.
