This week, we made changes to how late punches are handled and to how holiday time off bookings display. Plus, we added a Product Name column to reports.

Changes to late punch handling

Users are now prevented from adding or editing punches via the web app if the corresponding timesheet has already been submitted. If you need to add or edit punches to a submitted timesheet, you’ll need to reopen it first. This new behavior helps ensure timesheet pay data stays in sync with punch data.

If you’d prefer submitted timesheets to reopen automatically when a new punch is added, you can select the Automatically reopen the timesheet to include new punches option in the timesheet owner’s assigned punch policy. If that option was already enabled prior to this change, it remains enabled.

A similar change will be made to the mobile app in upcoming releases.

Changes to holiday time off

Users are no longer allowed to manually add bookings using the holiday time off type. However, if you’ve enabled edit or delete permission for the holiday time off type, users can still edit or delete holiday bookings that were added automatically.

In addition, holiday time off bookings now display only on the timesheet grid, and no longer display on time off calendars, list pages, or balance pages, or on the schedule page. Holidays still show on calendars.

We’ve made these changes to prevent user confusion regarding the holiday time off type. With the old behavior, users sometimes thought they were required to make holiday bookings manually. However, in standard usage, holiday bookings are automatically added to timesheets based on users’ holiday calendars and no manual action is required.

Product Name column in reports

A Product Name column is now available in reports based on the User template. If you include this column in a report, a row will display for each product that is assigned to each user.
