This week, we updated Replicon Mobile for iOS, launched our connectors for Tableau and Microsoft Power BI, added a new timesheet validation rule, and fixed an issue.

Options for analyzing data using Tableau and Microsoft Power BI

Replicon is a rich source of information that you can use as part of your business intelligence strategy. We currently offer an in-app analytics dashboard where you can view your data in chart form, but some companies prefer to use a dedicated visualization tool to analyze data.

So, we’re pleased to announce the launch of our data connectors for Tableau and Power BI. We offer the following options for each:

  • A workbook of demo charts populated with sample Replicon data, that illustrates visualization options

  • A workbook of demo charts populated with your organization’s Replicon data, that you can use as a starting point in creating your own custom visuals

  • A direct connector, that lets you connect Tableau or Power BI to your Replicon data, so you can create charts from scratch with your latest data

We also offer resources for companies that warehouse with Google BigQuery, or that want to create their own data connector using the Replicon API for BI Services.

Refer to Gaining business intelligence using your Replicon data for more information on all of these options.

New time off validation rule: Prevent users from booking time off based on a dynamic threshold

With this new time off booking validation, you can specify how long in advance a booking must be submitted. The length of this notice period corresponds to the length of the booking.

For example, if you specify an advance notice threshold of 2 for a time off type:

  • A booking of one week off would need to be submitted 2 weeks in advance of the start of time off, and
  • A booking of 3 days would need to be submitted 6 days ahead of the time off
This rule was designed to meet compliance requirements in the U.K., where users must give advance notice of at least twice the duration of the booking for annual leave.

Update to Mobile for iOS

Replicon Mobile for iOS is now available in the App store. It includes bug fixes.

Fixed issues

  • If you enter a negative value in a prevent overdraw time off validation rule, users can’t book time off using that time off type
