This week, we updated Replicon Mobile for Android, added task progress bars for timesheets, and made a change involving time off bookings that fail validation.

Update to Mobile for Android

Replicon Mobile for Android 1.0.96.0 is now available in the Play store. It adds support for Traditional Chinese, and fixes some bugs, including the following:

  • If you have the language in Replicon set to something other than English, and you’re using a version of Android OS below version 8.0, if you tap the Team Time icon, the app crashes

Task progress bars in configurable timesheets

Task progress bars are now available in the Time Distribution Grid component of configurable timesheets. These were already available in Standard timesheets in the legacy products.

Progress bars show actual hours worked / hours estimate for the task.

These graphs can help with several things, such as:

  • Helping companies manage time entry as they approach estimates, so they comply with client agreements
  • Aiding employees in choosing the correct task to enter time against
  • Helping approvers validate time entry
Note that, unlike the progress bar in legacy timesheets, these bars:

  • Display for everyone who has access to the timesheet, even if the Show Task Progress When Approving permission is disabled for a timesheet approver
  • Display for projects without tasks
To enable task progress bars for employees, enable the View task progress bar option in the Time Distribution Grid component of timesheet templates.

This feature is newly available in Professional Services Automation, Project Portfolio Management, TimeBill Plus, and TimeCost Plus. Please refer to What does the Progress column show? for more information.

All time off bookings that fail validation are now automatically deleted

If a user attempts to make a booking that doesn’t pass one of their assigned validation rules, that booking is deleted automatically – that’s how things have always worked in Replicon, and that behavior hasn’t changed.

However, if a supervisor or payroll manager without permission to delete bookings attempted to make a booking on behalf of a user, and that booking didn’t pass validation, the booking would be retained in the system as an unsubmitted booking.

Now, these stray bookings are deleted automatically, so you’ll no longer have to clean them up while preparing payroll.

Session timeout

Did you know the session timeout setting in Replicon is fully configurable? You can enter whatever timeout duration you prefer. Or, you can opt to have employee sessions never timeout, though most companies set a duration for security purposes.

Refer to Setting user sessions to automatically time out for more information on this setting.
