Partial Day Bookings vs Full Day Bookings on Calendar

Would be nice if Replicon could take this idea into consideration.  For the "Time off calendar" to show partial day bookings versus just a full day booking. The current calendar makes the assumption that the employee booked an entire day and if its feasible that this booking may be only for 1 hour, 4 hours, etc. Is the system able to display something different so users would know the difference in a partial day booking versus full day booking?

Thank you,

I second this idea request.  In self-hosted you could at least hover over the request to see the details.  Cloud based, no go.

Hi Tracy and Network Administrator,

I would expect the partial day bookings to show as shorter bars and I see this in my test instance. There is also a tooltip to show the duration if it is your own booking or a booking you approved. (We don't show the tooltip if you are looking at another employee's booking.)

So I'm a little confused as to why you aren't seeing the same. Which browser are you using?

Thanks,
Charlene

I tried on IE 11 and can't reproduce this issue. Can you open up the booking and take a screenshot of the dialog?

Thanks,
Charlene

We are asking for this to see if others (not ourselves or someone we approved) have partial day bookings.  Same thought process as the tool tip above, but to see others and if it's a partial day booking or a full day booking.

Thank you,
Tracy

My comment is related to the Company Calendar, which would be viewing another employee's time off.

My example would be our Front Desk receptionist needing to view all users time off bookings.  I've had a support ticket open for this before.  Self-Hosted you could hover to see this info, now you cannot.

Right - we changed this in the cloud version as the tooltip also showed the time off type, which we felt some wouldn't want shared with the company. But you've made a good point that we've lost that other information. Does the receptionist need any more info than the duration?

A Company Time Off Calendar is what I think is needed.  Viewable by anyone in company with permission granted.  The Company Calendar should be viewable in Day, Week, or Month View and should allow for seeing employee name, time off type, time off duration, start/end times, but no comments for privacy of request.  Problem solved.  Doing this via Report is not user-friendly for a quick time off snapshot.

Would be nice for anyone in the organization to see others time off bookings (not reason for booking), but the duration of the booking (full day, partial day).  Hover over does not provide that view at the present time.  Example of Receptionist seeing is a great example, but she doesn't need to know why.  Just date, who, full day, partial day etc.

Thank you.

We love the calendar and our departments are using it to manage cross-functional teams and inter-team coverage.  However, as mentioned in Tracy's post, if my department only allows 3 people to be out at the same time, and I have my department all pulled into my calendar, if there are 3 names showing up, I can't tell if they are all out for the whole day (because they don't report to me).  If I wanted to take the afternoon off, I would have to go around and ask each person before I could submit my booking request.  If the calendar showed when people were out, I could tell whether or not I could request the afternoon by looking at the calendar.

The ability to see a bit more information on other employee's bookings makes sense. I'll have the appropriate PM respond on our plans for this.
