Need report of billable expenses for nonbillable project

Currently we run a report each month that will pull info on every expense report submitted that has billable expenses included. We then break down that report in order to assist in invoicing our clients. We sometimes have projects that have a fixed bid but that fixed bid does not include travel expenses, meaning we can still bill our client for expenses in additional to the fixed bid. However, when a project is set up in Replicon as Fixed Bid, it is listed as Nonbillable and cannot be changed. This means that when an employee submits expenses towards a fixed bid project, not only can they not click the bill client boxes but as an admin I am also not able to go into their expense report and check those boxes.

We understand the purpose of this feature. Just wondering if there is a way to create a report that would allow us to pull only expenses for fixed bid and billable projects. I played around with the report we currently use and was able to add a "Billing Type" column, but the report then pulled every single expense report submitted in the time frame selected. I would have to manually remove pages and pages of data in order to get just the information we need.

If there is a way to create a report to accomplish this task, please let me know! Thanks :)

What was the outcome of this? We sometimes have fixed bid project with expenses that need to be billed beyond the fixed bid price.

I never received any feedback from Replicon on this issue.

I don't really have time this week to work on this. If you have a solution, feel free to share it here and I can give it a try when my calendar clears up.

Hi Kelly,

I checked internally on the reports available. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to filter a report based on the Billing Type of the project. I am raising this as an Idea and will keep you updated with a progress

Thanks,
Aashnee

We have recognizedthat our project reporting functionality is not as good as we wouldlike it to be, and are currently auditing them to ensure they can doeverything our customers need them to.

We are also working on updating our billing engine to be flexible enough platform to be able to handle scenarios like this.  When done this should allow the flexibility to freely mix billing methods.
