Maximum (fixed) hours for a Project

We frequently sell fixed amounts of time to a customer (say 100 hours). However in Replicon there is no way to set a "maximum hours that can booked against this project". This would be a useful simple feature to prevent overbooking against a fixed project. Can we have this please?

I agree! Staff often get wrapped up in the project and lose track of time in comparison to what was contracted. A cut off would be great!

We do too! The progress bars on the time sheet are nice but they won't stop overbooking. Great idea!

Hello Lingaraj,

We have exactly the same request. Has this already been implemented? Or: when can we expect this feature?

Regards,

Tim

Hi All,

Replicon is currently working on a way to support this OOB. Work is underway at meeting this requirement via the new custom timesheet, however, it's not fully ready yet. As soon as we have any date on availability I will post back.

In the meantime, we appreciate your patience.

Regards,
Lingaraj

Hi All,

I have got an update from the PM team that this idea is currently under consideration. Timelines when available will be updated on this thread.

Thanks,
Lingaraj

Hi All,

If you setup estimated hours against a project, it is now possible to limit the total time entry against that project to these estimated hours. You can use the timesheet validation rules available on our custom timesheet to accomplish that. In case you need any further details then please do free to let us know and we can arrange a call from our support team for the same

Thanks,
Aashnee

Hi Aashnee - I am interested in learning how to set up this validation rule to not allow time to be charged to a project if the actual total number of project hours exceeds the budget set at the beginning of the project. I was working with someone on the support team to do this, but these said they were facing an issue that the "estimated hours" field could be changed anytime and therefore would cause confusion when comparing actual to estimate. Are you able to help with this?

Hi Samantha,

This should be possible within the system if you have access to our Widget/Custom timesheets. May I know the options you receive under the format field when you click on add new timesheet template.

Thanks,
Aashnee

I see two options: 1) Standard Timesheet and 2) In/Out Timesheet.

Hi Samantha,

I am setting up a trial based on your instance and will enable the options that can provide you the details. Does 6th Jan 2017 1:00 PM work for you for a short call?

Thanks,
Aashnee

Would 2:00PM CST work on Friday, 1/6? I would not be able to have a call at 1:00PM.
