Major Functionality Request: Reimbursement tied to Payment Method

Our users have 2 choices for payment method, employee paid and paid with company credit card. The reimbursement checkbox is not currently linked to the payment method. We end up with alot of folks selecting the company credit card option without unchecking the reimbursement box. (Since the company pays the card, there is no reimbursement). Our approvers adn/or the accounting department end up rejecting the expense report causing all involved additional work to correct, resubmit and re-approve. Creating a hard link between these two items is a must

Hi Kelly,

Thank you for using Replicon Community,

I see your point. I have marked this as an idea & are reviewing the same.

Thanks,
Lingaraj

Hi Kelly,

Unfortunately we don't have this planned currently. We will review it during future roadmap planning though.

In the meantime, I wonder if custom report columns can help? It depends on your process, but if you are exporting expenses data for payment you could create a custom column formula that sets the reimbursement amount based on the payment method. Here is some documentation on it. Let me know if that sounds helpful and if you need more details on setting that up.

Thanks,
Charlene

Charlene, Thanks for the quick reply. This is not a reporting issue as much as it is a burden on our workflow. This feature was standard on all other expense processing applications we previously used. Correcting this user error causes a great deal of frustration and additional work for multiple members of our approval path. I'd like to have the chance to speak with someone on the product management team.

I'm actually the Product Manager for our expense product. We can certainly set up some time to talk. I'm not sure if I will be able to give you a more helpful answer, but I'm definitely willing to listen to your concerns and see if there are any options to resolve the issue.
