Increase in holiday doesn't kick in until following year

Hi,

Our holiday systems increases due to length of service, i.e. you start with 25 days p/a, after 5 years this is increased to 28 and after 20 it's increased to 31. I have the various policies set to start based on the anniversary.

In this instance the individual will complete 5 years' service next month, but will not be entitled to the extra days until next year. Is there a way to remedy this?

I've avoided using the pro-rata button as it doesn't seem to be helpful for new starters or leavers, but is this the occasion where I should use it?

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for using Replicon Community!

As I understand, the employee will continue to run on the same policy as mentioned from Jan 1 2015. Since the new policy will only be effective from next year we recommend you to change the policy date from Feb 2016 to Feb 2017. However, if you want to keep a record of the policy that took in effect this year, then set the parameters for Feb 2016 policy similar to the previous policy and set a new policy in effect from Feb 2017.

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks,

Thanks Aashnee. I would prefer it if the policy allowed for the extra days to be prorata'd for the months where it should be active, if that makes sense? So in this case, for the individual to have 10 months' worth of the extra 3 days this year and then for the full 28 days to kick in next year.

Hi Sarah,

We understand your scenario. However, proration will not be an option to be implemented in these kinds of scenarios. The way out is to add policies based on the accrual process.
