How to identify project?

Hi!

Sometimes an error message appears the on top of the timesheet:

This happens because, for instance, the project or the task is closed or the user is no longer allocated to that project.

My problem is when the task depicted in the message (in this case "Proposals") belongs to several projects. How to identify the project the task belongs to and fix it?

The following is a nice example:

In the previous picture, the task "proposals" belongs to 6 different projects. This example only refers to a single day... If we consider the entire timesheet it is not possible to easily identify the correct one.

This is a problem that happens frequently.

Does anyone knows how to solve this?

Thanks,
Nuno

Hi

We have the same issue however if you go to 'view all timesheets', tick the timesheet which is showing errors, Submit, put in a comment (usually test), it will come up with a warning, click on the warning this should provide you with a little bit more information.

Hi Zoe!

Thanks for your reply.

In this particular case the error message does not give more detail about the project...

Thanks for the hint and for trying!

Cheers,
Nuno

Hi Nuno

I definitely understand that the error message would not be helpful in the scenario you describe when a person is working on multiple tasks with the same name.  We will be looking at enhancing our error message capability and I will keep this a specific use case to address.

Thanks for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

Hi!

Any update on this feature?

Not having this is causing some distress with our users...

Hi Nuno,

This is still something we'd like to address but unfortunately I don't have a timeline for it.  In our new timesheet format that we've been working on, we plan to have validation errors that show next to the invalid data. So the error would show next to the offending task. We've just started adding the infrastructure for this, but it will be a bit of time before we add all the pieces.

I've marked this as an Idea and Under consideration so it gets reviewed and updated as we schedule this.

Thanks,
Charlene
