Holiday worked / Comp earned

With yet another update to the time off request / tracking module, I am not understanding WHY our employees are no longer able to delete a Holiday which is automatically populated?

Because the same system does not allow for the tracking of Comp time earned, our salaried employees were instructed to record the holidays worked, affix a comment identifying as such and delete the pre-populated Holiday. Said 'Holiday' would then be available to use at a later date but recorded as Pre-approved Comp day.

What are we supposed to do now ??? As the Admin, I am also unable to make the deletion as I have in the past.

Hi John,

Thank you for using Replicon Community!

As an admin or as a user with edit time off capabilities the user should be able to click the edit button available on the timesheet for that holiday. Here is the screenshot:

Please let me know if you can do the same.

Thanks,
Aashnee

Confirmed.
However, I am now forced to login as the user, reopen the time sheet, (wait for the Edit icon to appear, it is delayed) select edit of the time off code, delete the time off request and resubmit the user's time sheet.
Prior to this 'upgrade', I was able to identify the Holiday time off request from within the Time Off module, select the respective Holiday and delete it (without reopening the time sheet.)

Could you please elaborate ?
Specific to the time off module, the past two 'upgrades' caused major issues with our instructions delivered to employees.
It appears that upgrades are delivered with the intent to handle issues reactively instead proactively.

Maybe a beta testing group on the client level could be established to weed out possible issues prior to the release of an upgrade ?

Or provide some pre-view details or webinars to get feedback from the community BEFORE roll-out.

Hi John and Tony,

We always strive to be proactive and work hard to understand how our changes may affect existing customers. Our goal is to lessen any impact and communicate changes up front. I understand how it is frustrating for you - we certainly apologize for causing issues for your team.

Rolling out changes in a staged manner is something we've talked about in the past - it definitely makes sense for cases like this. I'm not sure we have the capabilities to do that currently, but I'll restart this conversation with the Product Management team.

We have been making an effort to communicate changes ahead of time in the Product updates section of the community, but perhaps have not gotten into this level of detail here. If you have suggestions for how we can improve that communication, please let us know.

Also, can you tell me which was the other upgrade that caused issues for you? This will help us take a look at our processes with specific examples.

Thanks,
Charlene

The Product Updates are nice, but they are of what has been done in the product. What about organizations that don't have anyone that is subscribed to or paying attention to this community? Granted you can only tell people and not make them hear you, but more communications in advance of changes would be helpful. What's on the product roadmap? Here are a couple of other products that I use that make there roadmap publicly available...

https://www.smartsheet.com/product-roadmap

https://www.teamwork.com/roadmap

What would be interesting is if the Replicon Product Managers would list the features on the backlog/roadmap and get the community to vote and comment in a way that would truly influence and guide the development. Give a representative from every customer organization 10 votes and allow up to 3 votes to be used on a single idea. I'm not sure if the GetSatisfaction platform can accommodate that, but I'm pretty sure UserVocie does... https://www.uservoice.com/product/product-management/

Thank you for reading and considering.

Aashnee.

I will be back in my office at 8:00AM EST on Thursday. My office door is always open and employees often take advantage, many regarding this very subject. If you can provide a time between 0800 and 1200, I can pencil it on my calendar ?

Thank you very much Aashnee. Our thirty minute conversation today was the most productive for me in quite some time. Many employees and managers will be happy.
Also thank you for addressing our paid time off issues. Once completed, I will have good news to deliver to several employees.

Thanks again.
