Having trouble connecting from SalesForce?

Hi all, I'm a SalesForce developer who spent a couple of days attempting to connect to a Gen 3 Replicon platform's web services. While connecting, I would receive authorization errors that I could not figure out. After all, I was using the username and password for an account with all the proper permissions, and I could verify that it wasn't locked or disabled. So why the authorization errors? It turns out that the username for accessing web services isn't the same username that one would expect. While I couldn't find any documentation on how to authenticate properly on Replicon's website, some communications with their technical team revealed that it is actually: +"\"+ So if your company is named "kingslanding" and the username is "tyrion", then the ACTUAL username you need to authenticate with Replicon's web services would be "kingslanding\tyrion". However, this didn't work either! How strange. I had started to think there may be an issue with how Replicon handles permissions, but some further communications with Replicon's technical team revealed a code snippet where the above username had the backslash ESCAPED. With this knowledge, the final username becomes "kingslanding\\tyrion". After this modification, I was finally able to connect and retrieve data. I hope this helps any other developers out there who run into the same issue. This is a critical piece of information that is not located in a prominent place in the available technical documentation for web services. Replicon has followed up with me and assured me they are going to be updating their technical documentation to include more information surrounding authorization, so hopefully this information will be more readily accessible in the future. Thanks again to Replicon for the help, I know there were many emails exchanged before this was discovered! - Joe Bunda
