Getting down to business analytics

Business intelligence. Data mining. Business analytics. Data warehousing. Big data.

These sorts of terms have been fixtures in business articles and forums for the past several years.

From sports teams optimizing their rosters, to individuals tracking their steps and sleep patterns, data analysis is everywhere. Even if you’re a skeptic and prefer to work based on experience and intuition, it’s hard to deny that data-based decision-making is here to stay.

And whether your company is already deeply reliant on data, or you’re a late adopter overwhelmed by the possibilities, Replicon should be part of your business intelligence strategy.

After all, when you use Replicon, you accumulate a wealth of data about critical things – data you can use to improve your business.

For example, if you’re a typical project customer, Replicon is a source of data on:

  • How much time workers are spending on each task or project

  • What your clients are working on

  • What margin you earn from each project or client

  • Who’s allocated, available, or underutilized

  • What employees are doing when they’re not working on billable projects

  • How much time off and sick time your employees are taking, and when

This kind of data can help you:

  • Improve your company’s utilization and productivity rates

  • More accurately forecast revenue

  • Manage resources more effectively

  • Improve your margins

  • And more...

We’ve offered an in-app dashboard for visualizing data for years. But, last year we added a more flexible option for leveraging your Replicon data: Analytics dashboards and connectors for Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.

We offer three alternatives for each visualization app:

  • Demo dashboards include pre-configured charts that are based on sample data. Use this option to see what’s possible using the connectors.

  • Template dashboards populate the demo dashboards with your organization’s Replicon data, and are a good option for those unfamiliar with Tableau and Power BI; as you gain familiarity, you can customize the graphs provided

  • Web data connectors let you create charts from scratch, using your Replicon data sourced directly via our API

We currently offer a basic project data dashboard for each app, with another template aimed at professional services providers coming soon.

For more information on using the Power BI and Tableau dashboards and connectors, refer to Gaining business intelligence using your Replicon data. You can click here to see the demo charts that are currently available.
