Restrict Users from editing Time Punches

Product/Platform: Quick Start, Replicon Plus or Replicon Enterprise.

Product Area: Timesheets, Punch Entry Policy

In the past if you gave a user with punch entry policy assigned the ability to edit, they could edit time punches in their entirety, including adding and deleting punches and editing punch times. This new option allows users to correct their selections while ensuring accurate punch times. You can select this option in the user’s assigned punch entry policy.

Scenario: You wish to allow users to edit the fields associated with a punch, such as the activity or break type, but prevent them from editing the punch time itself to track the exact Punch Time

To Set up this option, please follow the steps below.

1) Login to Replicon as an Administrator OR Relevant Permission.



2) Click on 'Punch Entry Policy'



3) Click on 'Add Punch Entry Policy'



4) Enter all the required Filed

  • Click on the Drop down of 'Employee Edits' and you will find an option 'Everything But Time'


  • Select the option and click on 'Add'


Note: (eg., 'New Punch Entry Policy')

5) Add the Policy to the User



6) You can now see that the Punch User has an option to Edit activity or break type but not Time. Time edit option will be grayed out.
