Feature request - adding notification for timesheet comments (such as upon reopening a timesheet or rejection)

As an administrator, I noticed an error and reopened an employee's timesheet, and in the comments asked the employee to correct the error.  The employee received no notification that the timesheet period was reopened, or the reason for it.  Per the help screen: "No notification is sent when you reopen a timesheet. If you want to be certain the timesheet’s owner notices the item, tell them directly that you reopened it.".  That defeats the purpose of having a comment field in replicon, that notification needs to be added to the workflow.

Hi kdurliat,

I would recommend rejecting the user's timesheet in this case. If the "Timesheet is rejected" email notification is enabled, the user will be notified and the comments will be included. This applies even when you are doing a "force reject" as an admin - ie rejecting from the Payroll/Billing/Cost Management > Timesheets page.

If you don't see comments, the email template may have been edited to remove this information. You can edit the template to re-add that.

Let us know if this works for you.

Thanks,
Charlene

I am an administrator, but not this particular employee's supervisor, so in this case there was NOT an option to reject.  Only to re-open (which I did, with a typed in reason that he never saw so he had no idea there were errors requiring correction).

When you are looking at the individual timesheet, you won't have the Approve/Reject options. But if you look at the list of timesheets, you should have those options available at the top of the list. If not, the permissions to Force Approve/Reject may be disabled.

Hi kdurliat,

We'll mark this as Not Planned as I think the other option I provided is viable, but let us know if it doesn't work for you.

Thanks,
Charlene
