Entry Level Custom Fields - Unique for Project

Is there a way for a Timesheet Entry Level Custom Field to be toggled on or off based upon the project that has been selected?

Example: When posting comments to a Support project, I'd like the user to enter a Ticket ID field.  When posting to a Development project, I do not require this. When logging time to business development (an 'internal' project) , I'd like the user to log an Opportunity ID field in the comments. 

Presently, I have implemented the OppID field in the Comments as an Entry Level Custom Field, but it shows up (and is ignored) by the vast majority of users and projects...

This would enable a tremendous amount of data integration across other systems, etc.

Hi Erik,

Unfortunately, the custom fields are not based on the entity selection. We understand this requirement and will forward this as an idea to our team internally. We will update the thread in case of any progress on the same.

Hi Erik,

This is not something we currently have planned, but I'll leave it open for other customers to weigh in if they would find value in this as well.

In the meantime, you could consider a validation rule to ensure the field is filled in appropriately based on the selected project. This would be a custom rule so would likely have a cost attached but if you are interested please contact your Customer Success Manager to discuss.
