Customizing billing with our Billing Workbench

In fairyland, billing customers is simple: one rate, no special terms, no discounts, and no markup.

But, we live in reality, where billing is often – almost always – kind of complicated.

For example, in your organization:

  • You might bill some customers a monthly retainer amount, plus rates for actual hours worked
  • You might charge different rates over the course of a project
  • You may offer a discount to customers if a project is delayed
  • And, maybe you only want billable amounts over $10,000 routed for approval, to prevent delays in billing smaller amounts
The permutations are endless.

And ideally, all of your custom options should to be managed in a single, automated system, so you don’t, say, accidentally offer the same discount twice, or incur errors or unnecessary administrative overhead through juggling data.

At Replicon, we know standard billing defaults don’t work for many of our customers. That’s why we’ve been working hard to come up with a platform for implementing fully-customized billing solutions.

The fruit of these efforts is our brand new Billing Workbench, which will be available in the near future to all of our Professional Services Automation customers.

With this new platform, you’ll be able to:

  • Have custom billing contracts created affordably that meet your unique requirements
  • Enjoy precise visibility and control over what items are billed and when
  • Define your own custom approval workflow for routing billable items
  • Apply and configure billing contracts at the project level
  • Use out-of-the-box default contracts that cover common billing scenarios
And the new billing items created using contracts will work seamlessly with our current invoicing system, if you use that.
