custom timesheet template - "Full Timesheet" option for timesheet approvals doesn't work

The project manager option "Full Timesheet" doesn't work with the custom timesheet template.

If a manager has this flag set to "Full Timesheet",  with the Standard Timesheet Template the manager will see ALL lines in the timesheet for approving. With the Custom Timesheet Template, no lines are displayed.

The only way to work around this is to change the flag from "Full Timesheet" to "Time for My Projects" and only the line relevant for the manager to approve is listed.

Replicon has stated that "Full Timesheet" doesn't work with the custom timesheet template. Therefore, it is not possible for a manager to see all lines in a timesheet based upon the custom template.

We have only a small number of users using the custom timesheet template and have been trialing it for some time now. The custom timesheet template has too many flaws to roll it out across the company as we want the standard template with the functionality to prevent users adding hours past the estimate.

Because of the usability of the custom timesheet template we have decided NOT to roll out the custom template and remain with the Standard template.

Maybe other companies have experienced similar issues with the new features and have decided to remain with the standard template.

Hi Ann,

We understand the concern here. However, it is possible to restrict the time entries past the estimated hours on the widget timesheet. May we request you to help us with all the issues regarding the Widget timesheet and we will be glad to look into.

You have me confused:  we have the standard template and the custom template as far as I can see on our system. Where does the "widget timesheet" come into it?

I apologize Ann. The custom timesheet is also called widget timesheet as you can include multiple widgets on them. I should have been careful in specifying the details.

Please help us with all the concerns you have with regards to the custom timesheet and we will look into them

I agree that we have lost the Full Timesheet viewing capability with the custom timesheet format.  We use the Full Timesheet view by all Project Managers so they can spot a potential misplacement of hours in the wrong row (a row which is not their project).  By seeing the entire timesheet, it forces them to look at all entries and get the timesheet fixed if necessary.

HI JJ,

We understand the concern here. We will have this checked internally and confirm if this is something that is being worked upon already

Hello Ann,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Our PM team is looking into this and will update this thread.

As of now, I do have a workaround you can customize the payroll or the billing manager for the project managers.

This is how it works:

The user enters time against 2 projects and the approval path is set to the Project manager.

In this example the project manager is assigned with 2 permissions:

1. Project manager
2. Customized Payroll manager.

Refer to the attached screenshots

Project manager permission:

Payroll manager permission customized:

User timesheet where we have entered time against 2 projects and both the projects have different project managers:

When the Project managers get the timesheet for approval he can see all the time entered:

I understand this is a workaround but our PM team is looking into this and will update this post.

Note: This will give the PM's another tab called payroll where they can see all the timesheets in the system.

Hope this information helps.

Regards,

V.Vinodh
