Assignment Management

I have submitted this feature request through our rep but thought it would be good to put out here as well...

We are looking to have Replicon be a more holistic solution for our business...

The current project management/resource allocation is to complicated for us and we are wondering if the system could be simplified.  I am using the word "Assignment" below, but it could be "job", "orders", "exercise" whatever works.

We want our management team to be able to create "Assignments".  There would be an "Assignment" button on the landing page (manager should not have to make multiple clicks just to get to this), a popup window would provide drop lists and details - project, task, user, due date, max hours allotted to complete, actual hours it took to complete (Maybe with timer), description of work, status (open, pending, in progress, completed), section for comments would be great so mgt and designers could comment on the "Assignment" in one place.

Once the manager creates and assigns it to users, the user would receive a notification email that they have a new "Assignment".  Notifications should be setup for all comments added and when the "Assignment" is completed so mgt knows.

Link to timesheet - Users should be able to enter multiple days of hours as they work on the "Assignment".  As each days work is completed the hours should be logged automatically to the timesheet.  Therefore this assignment and the timesheet would be linked, so that the designer does not have to enter the info in multiple places.

All "Assignments" should be listed in one place, maybe a new tab within the Project Mgt tab so that manager can review them all at one rather than having to go into each individual project... would be great if manager could filter/sort but due date, project, user assigned.

Reports and billing base off this information would be great as well but haven't gotten that far!

This is a very good idea.  My company would be interested in using a feature like this as well for tracking purposes.
