Allow GET requests for Replicon WebServices

PowerBI is a growing service from Microsoft in the product stack of Office365 and it supports amazing self service BI capabilities and reporting/dashboarding. In combination with PowerQuery and PowerPivot, it's a very powerful tool to analyze and combine Replicon data. And the combination "PowerBI with Replicon" works pretty good.

There ist just one thing: in order to unleash PowerBIs full potential we would need you guys to enable your Webservices to support GET requests and not only POST. That is for the PowerBI automatic data refresh only supports GET requests. Can you please check that and enable GET requests on your services as well. Thanks in advance.

Hi Benjamin,

Thank you for using the Replicon Community

The GET service doesn't take any arguments. All our services take at-least an empty JSON body ({}) and that is why everything is a POST method. However, I can put this further to my team and check if there are any plans of enhancements.

Thanks,
Aashnee

Thanks Aashnee for your reply. It's just what we got as an answer from Microsoft why they don't support POST requests with PowerBI Auto Refresh:

„Common consensus is that GET should be used for idempotent operations and POST should be used for operations that create something on the server side”

As Replicons WebServices are also creating objects like Projects and so on the Replicon side, POST might be appropriate for many operations. For data pulling purposes, GET would be the way to go.
Thanks in advance for your support.
