Additional Dashboard Filters

We are looking to get more utility out of the dashboard. To do so, additional filters would need to be available to further customize each chart.

For example, we currently have the ability to display hours worked for a project, however the benefit of this is limited. Incorporating the ability to display hours worked along with hours budgeted for a project would provide users with more useful information.

This same concept applies to the majority of the current filter options. If you can take the additional step to filter against another aspect of a project, the dashboard would increase drastically in its ability to provide benefits to users.

Does anything along these lines exist or is this planned for a later date?

Hi Daniel,

Thank-you for your feedback on the dashboards.

We do have the ability to filter on a couple of additional aspects of a project; namely the project's program, program manager, client, and client manager.  This is a pretty short list, and we'd certainly be interested in adding more.  Do you have any specific project dimensions that you'd be interested in?

Regarding the hours worked versus hours budgeted, I completely agree with you that this would be very valuable.  We only allow one "measure" (eg. a type of numeric value) on a chart currently, which keeps it simple to build charts but strictly limits what can be done.  We want to improve this, but we also have to be careful to keep complexity down or else the product will become difficult to use and understand.

Our development on the dashboard is currently on pause since other areas of the application have taken priority, so I can't give you a timeline on any of the enhancements that you're interested in.  The best I can suggest right now is that some of these needs could be addressed by exporting reports to Excel in the short-term.  Once we resume development, I'll make sure that your suggestions are prioritized as high as possible.

Thanks again,
