Add another category beyond holiday and PTO

Looking for a way to add a category similar to holiday and PTO, that would show in the resource grid in a different color. We would use it to show when users are doing training/professional development and want to see it in a different color. Not the blue/project hours.

HI Nicole,

Unfortunately, there is no way to currently do so. We have however, updated our product management team on the same and will let you know in case of any progress on the same.

I understand at a high level why you are looking for different colours on the resource grid, but I am curious for more details to better understand how you are using it.

You mention wanting training/professional development represented as a different colour from regular projects.  Is this represented by single project in your system, or are they a bunch of different projects?  Are you thinking about colours per project, or classifications of projects which get represented with different colours?

Hey Richard!

I'm just going to paste in what a department manager asked me regarding this:

"We also need to be able to block out availability for administrative/professional development hours, where we’ve made a commitment we need to fulfill, but it’s not an actual project.  For example, it’s important to know if someone is going to be unavailable for 3 days at a conference when we’re trying to capacity plan.

We could block that time against an overhead job as a workaround, but I’m curious if Replicon has a category for this, similar to PTO requests, so that you can easily see it in a different color and separate it out from the actual jobs and hopefully as Tim asked about PTO and holidays, designate it as its own category or filter it out on availability reports."

Hope that helps clarify what we are looking for!

Thanks!
Nicole
