“In/out Timesheet” format view issue

We are using the timesheet template of the form "in / out timesheet", "progress Task View" is set in this model, but the progress of the task does not appear when users are entering timesheet.

Hi Alceu,

Currently, View Task Progress permission does not enable the progress bar in the In/Out timesheet format. This feature is not supported hence I am marking this as an idea and product management team will look into this.

I have received an update from the product management team that, this idea is currently NOT PLANNED. However, will be kept in mind during future planning sessions.

Any updates on this please? This post is 4 years old and In/Out Time sheets still not having a progress bar! Why is it available only on duration based time sheet? 

Please start listening to your users.. I am from a country where in/out timesheet templates are kind of a requirement to ensure calculation of correct Penalty rates.

Just to make the need and benefit of this feature clear:

  • In-/out timesheets have to be used in some countries (like Switzerland) due to regulatory issues (start, end and breaks need to be tracked)
  • In our case for Software Developers and Consultants, they are responsible to estimate tasks. In order to take this responsability they should also see task progress while they are booking their time.
  • Without seeing task progress they rely on a Project Manager to track the progress and this is not only hindering them to take responsability for the task progress but
  • it also adds a delay to the whole process!
    Employees don't know task progress and cannot submit their timesheet (as a validation rule blocks overbooking of tasks) at the end of the week.
    They have to escalate this to the Project Manager who has to increase the task budget or advise them to book on another task.
    This delays the timesheet submission and approval and in the end also the invoicing and the cashflow.
At the first view a small thing and a nice to have feature... But in our case this would be a game changer!

We cannot understand why this is still not possible after such a long time!
